The Columbia Valley AVA, with its diverse microclimates and well-draining soils, provides an ideal environment for growing 2021 Chardonnay. The combination of warm days and cooler climate at nights allows for optimal ripening while maintaining acidity. Our approach to blending oak and stainless steel aging, and partial malolactic fermentation techniques (to minimize buttery flavors which are more common in Napa Valley and Sonoma County styles) results in a 2021 Chardonnay that is both structured and elegant, more complex than an unoaked chardonnay, and offering wine drinkers a true reflection of the Columbia Valley terroir and the classic characteristics of this beloved white wine grape variety.
